If anyone on here argues that Chris Hoy wasn't the deserving winner, then they are just wrong. The guy is just a legend, and should have won that award. So glad he did. 8) :D

I thought that the award was well enough deserved.

Lewis Hamilton is a great F1 driver but somewhat lacks a personality...
Also he had the misfortune to win his title in an Olympic year!

Also Lewis lost because

a) He buggered off to Switzerland to be a tax exile.

b) The colour of his skin.

chris hoy and 'personality'?
i'm not convinced.

at the London parade they did in october, hoy was just a cycling machine while becky addlington exuded charisma. and the dwarfy swimmer was delightfully happy. it was a joy to see those two with their medals. chris hoy came across as an arrogant robot. just my opinion.

Indeed. His calmness was undoubtedly helped by the fact that he is one of the undead...

I used to go out with a lassie in Edinburgh who lived next door to Chris Hoy. He used to chain his bike up in the landing - for a professional cyclist, he had a pretty shitey looking bicycle.
