My first ever fruit machine

Post by JG »

Hello.

I've just bought an Impulse Flashback.

My first ever AWP purchase. I was playing poker, won about £20 and thought, let's buy this Impulse on an Impulse. I think it may not be 100%, so expect lots of technical quibbles.

I shall be practicing my stop 'n steps shortly I hope.

I then lost £19 on poker.

Got to love on line poker. I had Q9s, I was the aggresor in a late spot. Opponent had A3. Flop comes T,J,K. I do my standard continuation. Call. Turn is the 3 of clubs. I woomf up the gas and woop out a big pot size bet. River is the queen of clubs. I check, he bets just over half the pot and I call him down to be disgusted. That kind of thing. Some other geezer playing his flush draw heavy on my two pair and hitting his flush. All my initial triple your money in ten minutes of luck reversed.

The girlfriend is annoyed. I moaned about paint fumes and now she's saying where we will put this fruit machine? All her shit it is in the way you know. It's a 4 bedroom house with two big rooms and a kitchen downstairs. She is so messy. All crap spewed over the floor everywhere. I might bung it in the kitchen. She's washing up now, it's just a f'ing excuse to crash and bang plates around. Annoying. Paint fumes everywhere. Mess, I know there's redecoration and I've retired onto fruit chat and poker to chat shit and play poker, but it's 10:58pm ffs, give up on the painting. I'm now pacing around moving things about, wondering where this bloomin' fruit machine will go. At this rate it might have to squeeze in the downstairs toilet. That way I can have a shit, a shave, keep exchanging over for some reel blasts and then take a piss in the payout tray which is the standard for today's players judging by some of the postings here.
It can't go in the back room and I ain't lugging the thing up the stairs. front room it is then, who cares if I play it whilst Hollyoaks is on? Kitchen will get in the way big style, no spare wall space, so it'd have to go in the centre. The other option is the car port, but it's a bit damp and horrible this time of year. F'ing house looks a mess, so I thought I'd buy a fruit machine to tidy it up a bit.

It'll probably not be working, so Aaaaaamusements, put that yoghurt down and prepare to be bombarded.......BOOOOOOOM!

It's 10p play/£5 jackpot. Switchable.

Whilst I'm waiting for a PSU, can anyone remember the jackpot music?

Is it "You make me feeeel sooo gooood!" Dooododododo doodoo doododo doododoododoodod oddod DOOOOOOOO DOOOOOOOOOOOO DOOOOOOOOOOOOO DOOOOOOOO DO!?

Or is it " A dang dang dang dang-a-dang a dang-dang dang dang - DANG!"

Or is it "Alright! Look!" Bleepy bloopy bleep?

Great, I like the do dooo dooo one etc, you have the same name as my machine. I've only played the £5 version once and that was in Cardiff Shipleys (one of 'em). Does the stop 'n step slip? Or is it true skill for the blue every time?

I'm pretty sure it was very similar to that, but with the 'urgent' 1-bar build up (4/4) just after the 'Alright, LOOK!'...

(increasing in volume)

dunna-dunna-dunna-dunna-dunna-dunna-dunna-dunna.

Then...

Doo-doo-do-do-do-doo-doo-doo-doooooo, doo-doo-do-do-do-dung-dung-DONG!

(LOL!)

Impulse had some great SFX.
