Is Stoke still a bit of a hole?

Steady on that's where I live!!

Er yes It's still a bit of a whole, Stoke has got a spoons, last orders, a posh pub and 2 locals, Hanley has got a shocking choice of fruits at the mo.
I'd suggest if you do opt for the scout around pick out the big pubs on the outskirts of the area as there's a few of us keeping check on some of the local stuff.
If theres a particular m/c your looking for PM me as i'm only a part time player, once a week or so so don't mind giving you locations.

If you do go to the towers, let me know what it's like as I'm due to go next wednesday for some scarefest thing.

Surprised Lee, I thought Alton Towers would be right up your street. Anyhow, last time I went was about five years ago. They had a lot of old stuff on £3 cash jackpot. Mostly Barcrests such as Road Hog, Viva Las Vegas. Couple of JPMs, a £5 Maverick I remember. M1a Monopoly ffs. Some reel old stuff. Surely can't have m1a now, not supported by 'Maygay'. Maybe it was ten years ago that I went there. Time blurry.
Sorry, not very helpful. It was definitely 'old' stuff when I went there. Probably got Hot wheels and Pacman there now and maybe Cash Lab. Doubt you'll see any £5 Panthers or joy of joys, a £5 Ziggy, but you never know. Nah, you'll probably do better as petera says farting around Stafford.

there's been quite a bit spent on a fair few pubs now, problem is it's still the same crowd, just dressed a tad bit better. (Mutton dressed as lamb otherwords).

Probably a bit late now (as in it's past 8:00am!) but they certainly have two £35 machines in the 'grill' area there - (near the 'swan lake'). Can't for the life of me remember what they were though. :(

Alton Towers is great though, although as mentioned above, this time of year does take away quite a bit of the enjoyment. But Nemesis, Air, Rita and my all-time fave Oblivion still pay off... ;)
