I've been paid out the odd dud lately, only a couple here and there, i've tried to put them back in but they simply won't take em, makes me wonder if someones actually putting them in the hopper, must be someone with access to the hopper like a refill lady or engineer, if they just swap 2 dud's for 2 good ones in every machine they could turn a nice profit come the end of the week, someones putting them in there, i've also been paid out in washers that were the exact same size as a poin coin but had a whole in the middle and some foreign coin Austrian i think, 2 of these stuck together with blu-tack were the same size as a pound too, these were both a few years back now.

Had this once. Got about £30 odd of them out of a machine. Slapped about £10 back in and managed to get £10 in wins so straight swap. Kept the rest and put them in me local pub m/c not thinking. Had to keep a straight face when the landlord a few days later was complaining somebody had put fake coins in his machine :o ops:

there is an astonishing amount of fake coins in circulation, i'd estimate 5-10% of all pound coins are counterfeit. these are my own calculations but if you look at the edge as the talking head suggests. it is way more than one in 50.

i'm fascinated by the coin of the realm which is part of the reason i play these machines.
nobody ever wins on those things.

I've got a friend who can get hold of fake £20 notes and £1 coins obviously for alot less than their value. I think the coins were about 30p each, not sure what the notes were tho
