Pet snake

Post by itsme »

A good friend of mine has a sister who moved to Australia when she was younger.Basically, she packed up and just went, shes having a great time and has a great job and family etc, anyway......

Being a pet lover, she decidid on a snake, python to be exact.
From what my mate told me, she had the snake for over 15yrs,I've seen the photos of it and trust me its huge !!

I was told that they never had any problems with the snake. They fed it small animals, rats or mice, the kids loved it and she even let it sleep in bed with her and the husband. This makes me cringe..

Apparentley, the snake used to wrap itself around her leg in bed and go to sleep....Until something weired started happening..

She rang my mate one day while he was at work just to see how he was keeping etc and she told him that the kids were fine and the weather was good, as you do. They got discussing the snake..She was worried that it was leaving food in the massive tank, not really had much in the past 3 months and how it didnt curl around her leg in bed anymore, she thought it was going to die.

She described how it was sleeping in bed at the side of her.It laid straight out in a line, from her head until the rest of it was on the floor near the bottom of the bed. My mate told her to ring the vet a.s.ap

After a quick discission with the vet about the ill snake, he called out to her house within 15 mins and took the snake away.

This is what he said......

The snake has not eaten for around 10 - 11 weeks, it has changed sleeping patterns because it was sizing you up. Basically, if you had'nt called me it would have eaten you. And, it would have done it head first !

I was shocked, but not as much as her I bet, the snake has been removed from the house.

Just thought I would share this bit of news with you lot..

To be honest, anyone who lets a python sleep with them in bed is insane!

Imagine if the snake did eat her and her husband woke up to find a wife-shaped snake next to him!!!

Priceless, yet very strange. :D
