Laptop techy help.

My girlfriends laptop is fine and normal and connects to wireless internet fine when it's plugged in, but doesn't work when not, anybody know whats going on here?

Check yer powersave settings. Quite a few laptops turn off wireless capability if they're not plugged in. Which is a strange default if you ask me...

Or the battery/ connection to the battry might be fucked which is what happened on my old toshiba laptop. If its SUDDENLY started doing it without you playing with the aforementioned powersave settings; then a hardware fault is more likely.

Try borrowing (expensive waste to buy if its not that) a battery from someone with the same model, or take it to a pc shop. Just dont walk into PC world with all your child porn on view.

if using windows xp then start---control panel---power options..
