What car?

Post by pt »

Now i'm 18 I wan't to get to places in real style than take the bus.

I've got around 25k to spend I don't really mind if it's new or second hand,

The musts list:
Can't be older than 5 years
Has to have less than 50,000 miles
Quite cheap to run
Doesn't look like an old mans car
Would like 4 doors

The cars i like so far are the BMW 330I SE and BMW 525D

Any other ones? 8)

yeah, dont be stupid enough to go for any of the cars mentioned at your age, fuel and insurance will be too much, if they even bother to insure you at all

.....which is pointless.

A gas guzzling, high taxed, high insurance car. Great idea for your first motor! :x

I know your not. But you did say 'It doesn't come any lower than a 2l' :?

Get a decent car with a 1.4 engine or something. They'll do 100 miles for £10 of petrol, and are just cheaper to run overall :D

sorry guys but this is a fantasy thread....

but anyways as a new driver at that age nobody should be thinking higer than a 1.4 engine.

Insurance companies will hardly even look at you for a higher powered car, and those that do will charge the earth for insurance. On top of that an inexperienced driver in a powerul car will most likley be in a nasty accident inside a year..not worth the risk at all!

Exactly jimmy, the voice of reason at last!

I know a petrolhead like this. Totalled an Audi tt, and now has a Porsche boxster. His insurance is now about £4,200 a year.

I know it won't be that much to insure yourself, but you really should be looking at a small engined car to start you off. 8)

I've done a few quotes on the bwm's and most places wont take me on and the rest want about 6-7k!

The fords aint bad, It's just the brand name that puts me off, I can see them been worth half of what they are today a year down the line

Think i'll go for a cheap polo till i can get insurance for a bmw
