im fine. Didn't manage to go all the way up Scafell, becasue I came from a road called 'hard knott pass' and that was about 6 miles away through about 3 huge valleys. I was in agony walking back.

Pictures :
It doesn't look far does it! but trust me, it was a good 4 hours walk!! (edit - 4 hours to the Base that is!!)
Great shot I reckon!
Below - Some of the obstacles infront of the main ascent!
STEEP! Killed me nearly
Now thats not going to be easy! Im knackered already!
HMMM!
I saw Mountain Rescue 3 times on that day, None of those times were for meeeeee!
I only got so far up, then turned back. The walk back was the most physical and mentally exhausting thing ive ever done. But I got there eventually!

Nice pics man..... have to ask , in your most recent picture, what's that building-like building at the top of the right-hand peak?
Please don't say it's a building!

Thats a mountain rescue helicopter, saw two and heard another on the day. Hats off to those People, save a lot of people who find trouble out there. I was thinking at one point that I might need them, I was about 4 hours of steep hills from the car, and was walking through the pain barrier! It wasn't fun at times!

ah right, that's a good shot. you have to ask yourself though why people are stupid enough to dander along the mountains without proper preparation... (yourself not included MJD!)... fair enough some folk just have unfortunate accidents, but other folk, especially up around Ben Nevis and other munros, just seem to be foolhardy and attempting too difficult climbs, in the safe and certain knowledge that they'll get "bailed out" should the going get too tough.
Right. That's my rant finished.

I can see what you mean.
A lot of accidents happen from Falls, occasionally you get an unexpected slip, and being in rocky terrain is dangerous! Best way is to check your step before putting your full weight into it.
I didn't prepare my trip brilliantly, just had knowledge of the start / finish area, and which mountains to use as flags, some unique looking mountains around Scafell & Hardknott pass. My body was in pain, but I always knew where i was, and where I was heading to. So I considered myself safe, took it easy, as Setting off at that ridiculous time gave me hours and hours to make it back.
I must also say that Hardknott pass is an incredible road! I will find a pic!

Hardknott Pass
Rises to around 1200 Feet in minutes. If your brakes fail on the way down, you are in proper trouble! :lol
