80 * 0 = 0
0 + 1 = 1

I used to think I was ok at maths so I voted 81.
If it was [40 + 40] x [0 + 1] then my answer would have been 80.
If it was [40 + 40] x [0 + 1] then my answer would have been 80.

Multiply first. It looks more obvious if you put the brackets in:
40 + (40 x 0) + 1
=
40 + (0) + 1
=
41
40 + (40 x 0) + 1
=
40 + (0) + 1
=
41
