poor food/ poor standard

Post by maverick69 »

I went to the casino tonight to meet an old buddy, neither of us had a flutter just had a few drinks...decided to have a meal like. we ordered two 16oz t bone steaks. 16.95 a pop. came out fucking burnt it was like eating charcoal. now we asked for fresh ones, what a fuss they made over it was shocking...like we were trying to get a free meal out of them. my mtes gone look i eat here alot its never been bad...i dont want a free meal i just want it nice...pulls out 10k cash out of pocket, hes got 8,000 pounds of gold bracelet on, 50k motor outside. i was like after come on..u dont need to show em and he was like well they made me feel small so i made them feel small. he is right though you shouldnt be treated like that for bad quality food. 17 quids not a lot but still. anyway when we see the manager he will sort it no doubt...known him for years both ex big punters...ive finished with that shit now though.

Chef put the steak on, went to force a DOND, came back two hours later, and there was smoke everywhere :D .

Seriously that is out of order. Any staff that makes you feel you are in the wrong need some serious retraining. I've worked in catering for decades and anyone with attitude wouldn't be re-engaged.

totally agree with 100% if you pay for something that your eating, it has to be right. and your mate did the right thing, sometimes you drop for staff that just dont give a shit, and they think "fuk it" il send it out, they wont complain they will just leave it.

Last time i had to send something back was a lasagna. was in a nice bistro job, ya know the kinda place that charges £13 for a mushroom starter.

Anyhow, im sat tucking into the lasagna and WTF is that?? i shit you not a used teabag in the middle of it!!! i was steaming. got the attention of the waiter, showed him what was in it. he was shocked, they actually told me it was a "flavour bag".

Now i aint thick, fair-do's they tried to pillock me on. And actually returned my meal to me. So i asked for the manager, he came over had been in the kitchen and confirmed it was a used teabag.very apologetic, FFS it was a pg tips pyramid !!

he apologised as by this time there was a few people watching, and he just wanted the issue resolved. they fetched me a fresh one out, to which i then asked for the bill, paid and then left the steaming fresh lasagna on the table. I wont eat anything that i have sent back or had a replacement for. you hear horror stories of what goes off behind that swinging door!! lol

hmm, sounds like an innocent mistake on their part, that would seem massively unacceptable or some kind of deliberate attack on yourself?

somehow get this link to work, i suspect this is what was in your dinner, a paper gauze filled with herbs to flavor the meal, which should have been taken out after they made the sauce..

the fact that the admitted it wa a teabag, was probably through their own inexperience, they possibly do a lot less fresh food than they make out, and it was the fault of the manufacturer of the sauce mix.

"behind those swinging doors": most places, unless run by arrogant retarded people do not do anything to meals that are sent back, places that take a pride in their meals would probably put 10x the attention to your second meal, whereas in a wetherspoons or a chain pub with a 19year old "food technition" is more likely to fart on your plate and dribble into whatever he's heating you up in the microwave.

Center Parcs grub is sometimes not best cooked. Last time we were in Sports Cafe Dad and I ordered two burgers etc at 8 quid a pop. Mine was fine, his was charcoal. In the end he got a replacement one and we both got a refund! I was shocked they were that accommodating!

I am going to start being honest now even if it means falling out with people, that story is a pile of balls maverick! If it was true, I would have slapped him with his t-bone steak, took his 17 grand and his car keys off him and turn around to you and said "Maverick, stop posting bollox on fruit chat"!

I am being a bell end because it gets boring hearing and reading people talking crap. Who in their right mind would sit eating lunch with a few grand stuffed in their pockets and then waving it around because they get a steak that is slightly under cooked?? What world does this happen in? Sorry mate, its been a shit day and sometimes stuff like this makes you vent your anger! Was this Mr T by any chance with all the jewelry on?

There's a big difference between a chef and some minimum wage cook who mainly uses a microwave or pre-prepared food. There's a real shortage of quality staff to go around.

Why would anyone make up a story like this ?!

Ok, if its true, why on earth would you pull 10k out of your pocket? Do you realise how big your pockets would have to be to have 10k in them anyway!

I pulled out a twenty pound note and the keys to my skoda because my big mac had no lettuce on it and the guy behind the counter didn't care.

You do seem to expect everyone to agree with you on everything steve! If you say its good or true it must be or we are all liars or idiots! Why shouldnt someone have 10k in a casino? Not going to go in with £100 are they? You said the other week nobody could be making money on fruits at the moment and i must be a drug dealer! God knows what job you do to post 20 times a day!
I am Glendale, much better than you!
