this may seem a wild comment but i actually think Blair is a very intelligent man when he is left to pull his own strings and make his own moves.
hes said some really good things over the last few days and id like to see him lead this UN council motion to sort this all out...
bush is a STERN supporter of isreal so hes only going to make it worst..
he truely is a prick.

the yanks have been transporting bombsto isreal but using prestwick airport as a stop off between the us and isreal i stay about 20 mins away from prestwick and there were demonstrations there the other day we dont need the yanks dumping shit on our doorsteps but it seems they are now using a armed forces base in surrey but still they shouldnt use the uk as a go between for this bloody war, but yeh i agree we are a nation of moaners and complain about anything and everything when realisticaly we have got it so much better than 95% of the other countrys in the world.

Blair certainly spoke the truth when he said that what was going on in the Middle East is a tragedy.
However, yet again, he is seen to be pandering to the US, refusing to call for a ceasefire, letting US refuel their weapons, refusing to denounce an Israeli government that shows no concern for human life.
If 30 kids were killed in USA, the UK or Israel it would be seen as a unspeakable tragedy. That it happens in Lebanon or Palestine is seen as an unfortunate accident, a necessary evil or simply "collateral damage".
Madeline Allbright, ex Secretary of State under Clinton and Bush, was once asked about the sanctions against the Iraqi people after the 1st Gulf War, which resulted in the deaths of around 500,000 Iraqi children.
"Albright replied: "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price -- we think the price is worth it."
... this can be easily summed in one sentence "Western lives are worth more".
