Fruit Machine Chat

Following on from the famous curry thread, comes the lager and beer thread. The two obviously go hand in hand, and as gamblers i guess many of us drink a bit on here (except that boring celibate cardinal).

What's your fave then? I'll admit i'm a lager drinker, not a great fan of ales and beers. Don't mind them, and i suspect i'll drink a lot more when i'm older.

Fave beer for me is still Corona. Refreshing, crisp and a great taste with a slice of lime in it. Least favourites are crap 4% lager lout beers like Fosters/Carling. Crap chemical taste and full of gas. Premium beers tend to be ok though.

I love Kronenberg, Coors and San Miguel.

Also like cider with Strongbow and Magners topping my list.

I drink Fosters, Carling, Stella or Carlsberg - depending on which pub im in and what they have!

These days 5 pints is enough for me, after that the gas gets too much and I have to start the real drinking. Vodka n Redbull or JD n Coke.

Anyway, to answer the question id have to say Carling is probably my drink of choice.

I drink Fosters, Budweiser, Carlsberg or Carling usually. But can easily be found with a bottle of gorgroues Brahma or Corona in my hand!

My fave BTW is Budweiser on tap, hard to find on tap though, although recently got alot better!

if i'm in the pub (about 50% of my life) i prefer carling, maybe fosters (british owned) but i would go thirsty sooner than drink carlsberg, stella or any other foreign muck. during winter newcastle brown or london pride.

carling all the way in general. Cant stand stella, tastes shite.

Pretty similar here with the gas thing, after about 5-6 pints i just cant stomach anymore so tend to move onto other drinks.

On the other side i do like a nice bitter from time to time

Port is for men,
And brandy is for heroes.

EDIT: I was drinking lager on Saturday, but only to fit in with the hoi-polloi.

Bud on tap is the best!

Lager - Only drink it from Tins, as they are cheaper! Carling / Carlsberg & Fosters = All good! I think The Berg is the best..

Guinness & Murphys - Perfection! Nuff said

Guest Ale - I looooooooooove Ale! being a man from the North, theres so many! and we have two beer festivals this month.

If you even go to Coniston you MUST have a pint of Ol Bluebird. Especially after ariving back to Earth from the old man!

I've been through a variety of phases with the old lager, when I was 15 'till about 17 I used to swear by the high-strength tramp stuff (Tennents super, Spesh etc.). Great if you're on a limited budget, and many a messy night was had whilst under the influence of those vile concoctions. They really do send you completely bonkers, best enjoyed while you're young enough to get away with it really!

Once I was in the position to afford to have a proper drinking sesh in a pub (i.e. after finishing school ), I would opt for a slightly less potent option such as Grolsh, Coors or my favourite at the time, Red Stripe.

These days I have strangely reverted to the other end of the scale, and 'cooking lager' is now my chosen tipple, with Carlsberg being my current favourite, although Fosters or Carling will usually suffice. If I drank a couple of Special Brews these days I'd probably be hungover for about a week.....
