bought 007 bloodstone on ps3 yesterday
great game (kinda like uncharted) , its basically a shoot n cover game , with some driving sections thrown in to break things up
anyhow you have to use bonds phone from time to time , to open safes , find bugs etc ,,,,, by skilling up like a cluedo lol and it gets progressively harder from level to level ,,,,,, lol ,,,, theres even 1 barcode section lol ,,,,,,,, 231 sorts it lol
top game , action explosions everywhere etc ,,,,,,,,,, the graphics in parts are outstanding
i was on it from about 7pm last night till completing it around 430am ,,,,,, on normal setting , gonna tackle it on agent level next ,,,,,,,, then maybe 00agent level
im sure this wont impact much amongst the gamers among you ,,,,,,,,,,, afterall ,,,,,, blackops just got released .......

The last five games I have bought and played are - Spiderman Shattered Dimensions, Halo Reach, F1 2010, Fallout New Vegas and Black Ops. Obviously I've hardly touched Black Ops but the rest were all enjoyable enough games (in the most part).
I also rented Medal of Honor which save me £34.
GOTY so far? It's between Fallout:NV or Splinter Cell:Conviction.

I'm playing on the Megadrive emulator a lot at the moment. Probotector... classic 'run-n-gun' platformer game. I even have an official joypad with the A B C buttons made by Sega to make it more authentic :-)

Ah, Gens? Megadrive was the business! Don't get me wrong, I love my PS3, but I still enjoy:
-Streets of Rage I / II
-Sonic The Hedgehog I / II
amonst many others...

ahh the megadrive ,,,,,,,, bought the original uk model on day 1 of release for £189.99 which came with alterd beast and one pad,,,,,, shortly thereafter bought golden axe for £29.99 ,,,,,,,, a price unheard of for one game in those days (i had just sold my amiga for funds towards the megadrive purchase ,,,,,,,, and the most expensive amiga game was only £14.99 in comparison ) but what a machine ,,,,,,,,,,, golden axe was immense , almost arcade perfect , with graphics never seen like this on any home format. .....
i must have been around 18-19 at the time , so money was hard to come by / make ,,,,,,,, so the games came very slow ,,,,,,,, but over the years titles like out run , sonic , revenge of shinobi were freaking amazing at the time ,,,,,,,,,,,,
then for me , the original streets of rage. ,,,,,,,,( not the much praised 2nd one , though good) is the megadrives finest hour ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, still play it from time to time now , remember buying it on jap import for £60 + postage (bare knuckle jap name) back in the day when the dearest megadrive games would set you back £29.99-34.99 tops ,,,,,,,,,, i read the reviews and just had to have it ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, strider , ghools n ghosts and double dragon came next ,,,,,,,, and were simply arcade perfect ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, as was mercs ,
still an awesome machine now ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Not to turn this thread completely on it's head from Modern to Retro, but...
SoR was fantastic!! The music I still listen too to this day. Particularly liked the boss music - it was great when the level music faded out and that kicked in. I have it on the PS3 (Megadrive Collection) and playing it on a 1080p 42-inch screen with the sound to the max is almost better than most modern things I've played...!
Funnily, I had the original one with Altered Beast ('wwwwise fwom your gwave!' for Christmas along with Sonic and went out and bought Golden Axe with some additional Christmas money.
My missus' boy (OK, my boy now, lol) bought CODBO and completed it today, it looked OK on the PC, but I can only really play those sort of games on the console now - used to be a PC gamer, but got spoilt by my console.

The only console i have is an old megadrive, oh yeah, and also a broken playstation 2.
Never really been one for consoles myself, always seems like a bit of a money waste to me, soon as a new console comes out, its like 3 or 4 hundred quid (if not more!) and in this day and age you can build a decent enough specced PC which can run most if not all new games with full graphics for that kind of money.
I like my car games, and went thru the whole Need for speed series that was out on PS2 at the time (this was years ago, NFSU was new then!) and i never really got on with them that well, yeah, i could drive and win, but cars dont go around 90 degree corners at 100mph, or smash into a wall and roll 27 times and then carry on with not so much as a cracked wingmirror, the physics engine and damage system on racing games (at that time) were never much cop for me, plus the 3d tyre models were totally crap too, i want to feel like im actually driving a real car, not bashing buttons on a controller, plus the horrible blurred and over reflective 'bloom' effect used to get on me tits as well, although this was a few years ago, things may have improved.
So i got my PC, and Live For Speed S2, a proper racing simulator in the making, thats fine for me!

Not really a massive gamer myself but looking thru tescos the other day and came across the ultimate megadrive collection on the 360. Was only £11.99 and has all the classics that Mr IconHop was talkin about.
All the streets of rages, all the golden axes all the sonics, altered beast, shinobi and even space harrier!!
Immense!!!
