What a shithole

Seriously how bad has this place become?
I have not been for 15 years or so

I took my daughter to Blackpool Zoo today, and checked in at the blu hotel at the pleasure beach (nice hotel btw) about 4 yesterday

Had a walk up the front and oh my god
This place is a total shithole, dirty, grubby, run down
All the people dress the same, and are scumbags you can just tell
It looks like some bits are getting a facelift
Well it certainly needs it

The pubs look rough as hell why anyone would come here is beyond me
Do people really holiday here???

By the way i only went to Blackpool for the zoo as we had been to Chester before

At least the hotel was out of the way, and was like you were in a different place
Cost £109 for the night in a deluxe room
Very nice hotel
But

I would never go back to Blackpool

But was it really much better 15 years ago? I'd say with a degree of certainty that we were 'letting it off the hook' massively even back then - putting it down to being stuck in a timewarp, among other excuses.

I don't think I can ever remember thinking it didn't need a good lick of paint. It got good press when the beach and water quality were improved during the 90s but no-one ever did anything about the decaying buildings, and today's gloomy assessment doesn't really come as a great surprise.

Tis indeed a real shithole - and a British institution.

Yeah there's a certain charm. Only place in the world where you can feel over dressed in a shell suit and cap.

On my last visit to Cesspool they had to shovel up all the sand and put it on lorries to take back to the beach. It was very windy that year and more sand was on the golden mile road than there was on the beach. Its one place i can think of that it will do us a favour when sea levels rise and sweep the shithole away.
