I have a bit of financial interest in this, having backed Isner on Monday!!!

To be honest, the only way he was going to win it was if it went to another day, because Mahut looked far less shattered by the end. Isner was just serving and standing there.

Although saying that it wouldn't surprise me at all if there was a retirement overnight as either one will be in a bad way come the morning.

It's 3rd on court tomorrow (stupidly) and apparently the odds are something like 2.5 it's finished tomorrow, 1.6 on friday! Whoever does win is gonna really struggle in the 2nd round, I guess luckily for them they are playing De Bakker who had an epic 16-14 5th set win himself today! Although I'm sure he won't be anywhere near as tired as Isner/Mahut.

Yeah until one breaks the other's serve, or one of them retires. There's no tiebreak in the 5th set of grand slams, so they continue until there's a 2 game deficit between them...

The sick thing is even the loser of this match will probably have played more games than the eventual winner of Wimbledon!

Hats off especially to Mahut - who boldly wandered out to play a men's doubles match this evening, on the very same court 18 .... must be sick of the sight of it!
