go to a phone shop, ask to see the latest series of nokias...

5800 is ideal but possibly discontinued

or anything from the " N " series wipes the floor with anything else out there at the minute.

i got a 5800 and it is bug ridden,if you don't get infuriated by little glitches it's o.k

since nokia did a software update the google search will not work,it just can't find a search engine.

i-phone should be available on other networks any day now ,if i can upgrade i think i will.

what bugs in the 5800?

there are a couple, but nothing too serious... ive never had a problem with anything..

plus its only £150ish whereas a iphone is £450 for about the same function

my advice for anyone looking at an iphone, is to wait till after vodaphone and orange have finished playing price-wars, because about 2 months into them having the iphone, apple will probably issue a newer handset...

that's fair comment on the i-phone actually.

i also like the look of the n97.

5800 bugs include ,locking up so you have off/on via battery removal(happened 3 or 4 times since january),weird screen colour changes (often)and an infuriating habit of shutting down internet connection whilst browsing ,even when on full signal(not at all un common on mine).
i won't go into all the trouble i've had try to put movies on it.

ive been on the same voda contract for over 12 years , i pay £40 a month for unlimited texts , 750 any-net any time mins , stop the clock (after 7pm lets you make calls up to an hour in lenth ,but only charges you 3mins worth) + internet usage + insurance and itemised billing etc ,,,,,, cant beat it

each year (although now every 18months) i can choose ANY phone voda stock for free . last month i got the n97 black (in carphone warehouse retails off contract for £550) .and sold it straight away for £325 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, that takes care of the first 8months bills of the 18month contract. simple.

and stick with my basic vodafone 725 handset that cost £60 , its 3g , camera ok , mp3 etc ,,,,,,,,,,,, never locks up or freezes ever ,

lets face it without boasting im sure most of us on here could easily afford any latest phone we wanted , but when all said and done , whats the point ?,,,,,,,, after the novelty of all the new (cook your dinner , gives you a blowjob whilst setting up your first cluedo) features has wore thin ,,,,,,,,,,,,, you then regularly just use it to phone/text and perhaps the odd camera/mp3 usage .......... which are adequate on a sub £60 handset.

horses for courses i suppose ,,,,,,,,,,,,, what do i know , i think nothing of spending hundreds on my passions .

lee .

ps : note to hrk ,,,,,,,,,,, thats how to write a post m8 ,,,,,, it may not contain views everybody else shares , but it gives folk something to read/chew over and offers lively debate . ,,,,,,,,,, you sir are just a cock.

Do what my other half did - buy one from Hong Kong off ebay. She bought a touch screen which has everything you need including internet etc and it looks exactly like an iphone. This is as well as her contract phone. Now she wants rid of the touch screen and its just gathering dust. Women eh, ungrateful bastards!

I hate mobiles with a passion, for me they are a necessary evil. I have mine for if anything happens to my kids and it doubles up as a decent music player.

Ring ding, ring ding.
