Matt Vinyl wrote:Interesting point JG. I guess you'd like to think that the more knowledgeable a person is, the more understanding they would be of multi-culturalism etc.

Generally, a less knowledgeable person basis their views on 'less' garnered knowledge, would you agree?

There'll always be exceptions, of course.
Exactly.

Only an idiot would think that
a) we haven't ALWAYS lived in a multicultural society.
b) that economic migration hasn't been a vital element in the growth of the country and won't continue to be.
c) that they're not mixed race, because within a dozen or so generations we all are.
d) would manage to block out the fact many of their heroes, dead or alive weren't either 'foreigners' or ethnic minorities of some kind.

I could go on.

I'm always amused by the way racists cling on to stereotypical views of Englishness that actual demonstrate multiculturalism and the mixed race nature of this country. Did you know for example Richard the Lionheart barely spoke a word of English? He was a French speaking Norman Land owner. Or that St George (a Roman Turk who never came here) is patron saint of allsorts of foreign lands.

How many generations do you go back to be foreign?
If you are born here but your parents weren't are you a foreigner?
how about if you and your parents were born here?
what about three generations?
find me a 20 generation family tree that DOESN'T have an immigrant in it. They're virtually non-existent.

I cant comment about nor care about the past its now that pisses me off! When i have to queue up in a post office for half an hour to be served only to see a totally empty counter for most of this period. It does have the occaisional customer who is of eastern european appearance, eventually when i ask what the crack is,it turns out that these"assets"to our country have there own counter for cashing there benefits to which they have contributed nothing!
What also pisses me off is my father worked for 30yrs and then became ill tried for 14mths to get invalidity but was told he was not ill enough. He did get it eventually but died two weeks later!
So when i see people abusing our health system it fucks me off and i am no racist but i think this immigration has got beyond a joke and will be happy whenBNP get in to be honest cos thats how much it has got my back up!!

BNP won't get in.
They won't get a single westminster seat and rightly so.
People don't value council or Euro elections very highly (unfortunately) but even the majority of bigotted idiots realise having a parliament seat wasted on a racist pressure group is a bad idea.

the VAST majority of immigrants come over to work and do so very hard.
The factories and building sites are over flowing with Eastern European and portugese workers slogging their guts out, paying their taxes and proudly pursuing a better life for themselves and their families.

They have as much right to come over here and work as our citizens do of travelling and working abroad. No-one questions British students flooding the med working in clubs and bars. For years our builders have worked across Europe taking jobs away from local workers by being better and cheaper. Then there's the upper middle classes retiring in Spain or buying a little Tuscany vinyard.

That's ok but when a Polish family come over and, despite his economics degree, the man of the house works 12 hour shifts at Salversens to pay for the shitty little bed sit they're crammed into, the locals kick up a fuss.

It must be harder for todays racists. In the old days the people you were supposed to hate were easier to spot because of the different colour skin or the unusual clothes. These days the bastards have the nerve to be white Europeans who, until the open their mouths in the supermarket or post office are completely indistiguishable from a good clean Englishman.

The thing that worries me is that one day I might end up fighting a bunch of polish boys because they think we're all like the racists. They keep themselves to themselves because they think we all hate them. When I see them gathered outside their newly opened Eastern European convenience stores that have been opened up by these sponging selfinsh lazy independant business men, I almost feel like interupting and apologising to them for some of my countrymens opinions.

Someone mentioned the irony that we have a united free Europe because my grandad's generation fought against bigotted rasicst white supremecists and the result is that the very people who were being oppressed by the Nazis are over here working hasrd for a living (regardless of what the racist propoganda would have you believe) and they're catching flack from the sons and grandsons of their liberators.

Shame on you Britain, shame on you.

They'll never get a seat. The only reason they got into europe was due to a low turn out and proportional representation being apparent.

I'm actually a bit disappointed. I keep checking back to see if any of the BNP supporters have come back with anything interesting but nothing turns up.

Funny that. When you challenge racists to express their opinions clearly and logically they clam up. I'd love to hear what BNP policies exactly people are supportive of and what they know about the party.

Sean Lock cracked me up on 8 out of 10 cats last night. He suggested maybe Griffin and his mate will turn up at Brusells and end up saying "hmm, turns out the people here are really nice, the food's great, nice buildings, maybe we were wrong." Obviously you have to imagine sean delivering it.

I know nothing about their party only what a state our country is in now,how easy immigrants can claim money now!For instance many a polish family is coming over getting there family tax sorted then going back to poland cos they know its gtd money for a year.
Like i say i aint racist im saying enough is enough the country is on its arse and they only people who strruggle to get anything is the English.
Pete it might be me but i think you are a little condescending towards people who dare to give their opinions albeit in bad grammar,it doesnt mean their thick, stupid or racist.I just think alot have had enough and see the BNP as the way out.

It's not about being condesending. It's that my point of view is developed by looking at all the facts and making a balanced decision.

You've started your last two posts making clear what you DON'T know then following it up with an unsubstantiated belief or opinion that's opposite to the actual facts.

"many a polish family is coming over getting there family tax sorted then going back to poland cos they know its gtd money for a year."?
how many polish families?
You know their travel arrangements and benefit details?
Don't let consipicy Mike hear you, he'll accuse you of being CIA
How easy is it to claim benefits? which benefits are they entitled to without NI contributions?
what are your sources for these facts?

How can you vote for a party you admit you know nothing about?
can you tell me any policies of the BNP you agree with?

I went to school and also entered the work placeunder Thatchers government, and struggled in my early working life under the subsequent Major era. What worries me is we've got a new generation of voters who have no idea how much worse it was 20 years ago in many ways.
We're in a global finacial crisis caused by American ultra-capitalism and worsened by banker and city types (who as you'd imagine are large C Concervative types) We are suffering far less than America and Europe and will recover faster too. That is unless the Torys get in and hack and slash their way through public services while at the same time protecting the upper tear of the wealthy classes from tax increases.
The immigrants will get far less from the government, but so will everybody. Anyone recieving any child tax credit, assistance with child care, income support, incapacity benefit, state pension, heating allowances, housing support better brace themselves if the Tories get in because it'll be bleak.

However, I do understand that the conservative vote is a legitimate political opinion, even if it's different to mine.
But the BNP are simply racist scum who are no better than the fascists my and your recent ancestors fought against.
