I managed to pick that set up for £4 (!!!!!) at a local 'Charity Shop' a month or so back - more than half of them still indeed had their shrinkage on. :)

Hmm now trying to remember whether I offloaded them when we got rid of all the other obsolete videos a couple of months ago.

Which charity was it?

its a crying shame really that the vhs scene is all but dead, go to any car boot sale and you will see people struggling to sell em for as little as 4 for a quid ,,,,, and thats for good hollywood blockbuster titles ,,,,

at the other end of the scale you can buy the very same films on blu ray for as much as £25 a pop,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

the worlds gone mad,,,

blu rays have got to come down in price eventually ,,,,, afterall dvd's started at this price point when they first came out ,,,,, and if anyone can remember that far back so did vhs when it was cutting edge.

im as guilty as the next man though ,,,,,, haven't got any vhs left or a vhs player for that matter ,,,,,,,, and yesterday i bought the hulk on blu ray for £17 from asda. but being the superhero nut that i am, i simply had to have it now. and as long as idiots like me are willing to pay a premium price , then they'll keep selling em at it.

i usually try to shop around when it comes to blu rays though ,,,,,, got spiderman 3, the pursuit of happiness and casino royal for a tenner each ,,,,,, and pirates of the caribbean box set (all 3films) for 26.99

there's stacks of titles i would love but im not paying £20 a disk for em, when you can pick up the same titles for 5for25 offers in hmv/zavvi etc on standard dvd .

i know the ps3 and other players try to do an admiral job of upscailing standard dvd's but its still nowhere as good as blu rays .

oooooohhhh well rant over

NM - I can't recall exactly, think it was Red Cross.

It is a shame that VHS has finally joined Betamax (lol) in that great tape-player in the sky. The kids still watch them in their room (the main reason I bought the 007 collection) but when I caught a glimpse of one of them the other day, the quality really did seem quite bad. :(

It's because we get spoilt so easy, a few years ago, videos were all we had, and we loved them.

Before sell through you would pay £60-70 for a VHS tape as they were for rental only. Paid £32.50 for Logan's Run in about 1984. Everything (nearly) is on line now for nothing.

For 3 films I would take them to snappy snaps or similar- sur ethey do that sort of thing. Otherwise wouldnt have thought you need USB converter, more a TV card for your PC should do the trick although not sure re quality etc
