this all has to be changed at the last minute ,,,,,,,,,,,,, basically bik , being bik ,,,, is skint , despite working for marks n sparks for 13+years ,,,,,,,,, so so undisciplined ,,,,, puts his money in any old shit , ,,,,,,,, plus bookie roulette has ruined his life ,,,,,,,,
he has a heart of gold though , and would break his back to help you .
i offered to loan him the money ,,,,,,,, and for once in his life , he did the sensible thing .
he said no ,,,,,, because its just digging a deeper hole for him .
tracy going with me now instead.
roulette is definitely the crack cocaine of gambling , but its never gonna go away is it .
i appreciate nobody puts a gun to people's heads and makes them play it , but it needs to be regulated , lowered stakes etc ,,,,,, its ruining many people's lives .

This week, having had a personal taste of the misery these terminals can dish out, I wholeheartedly agree.
To some, that may seem like I'm only saying that as I lost money this week. Not true, I've looked at the bigger picture.
The fact is they're horrendously addictive, more so than ever betting on horses or football. It's not based around one event for which it is perfectly sociably acceptable to lament about when one poxy goal messes it up for you. It's a series of events that usually take about twenty seconds to stage on which you can bet up to £100 a time.
Then there are the lovely B3 video slots that chew up £20 notes for fun and make most of their % on sub £10 wins, recycling you to death at hyper fast speed.
Anyhow it has been discussed before and I'm sure H2 will be along soon, to feed a few £20 notes into this thread (used to be you could just put your tuppence worth into a thread, now this board operates under cat B3, you can put £1000s into a thread, just to eventually get your point across)
I've made a loss this week, a big loss. I had a Red22 moment and tried to Ricoh my way out of trouble, but dug myself deeper. Basically it has been a horrible, horrible, horrible week. On that hideous Tuesday, I actually ended up making just below £200 on various machines and that was well under half a route, due to the time spent wonging £20 notes in and listening to varying sequences of none to four dings at major, yeah major second intervals, waiting for that final fifth ding which is a major third interval, not that it really matters, I'm not in the London Philharmonic and even if I was I'm sure the feeling of mutual creating of music and the associated positive kama this brought, would negate any urges to wong the best part of a bag of sand in a Fu**ing 'Orrible Bastard Terminal.
Oh well. The old common sense goes walkabout every now and again. Well it does in my case. Not to mention now I can't even win on hi-techs.
You make your own luck. True. You make your own bad luck as well. I'm so in the dulldrums, it's attracting so much negative kama. More on that elsewhere.
To get back on track and to summarise.
It's WRONG that you can stake £100 on an event every 20 minutes. True, you can go to a casino and stake much more, albeit with a lower event frequency. However you have to make more of a pre-conscious decision to go to a casino. Mainly due to the fact that they're usually based out of town, or somewhat out the way. Once you're there, of course they're just as bad, but at least you get time to clear your thoughts on the way.
Bookies, well once minute you're next door in the post office buying stamps and then you're doing £100/spin on a whim to chase the loss from that Hi/Lo Silver with the knackered lo button.
Basically they need to replace all those 'orrible games with £1/play soothing whale music. All your dials dead? All your Golden Games 'there' but taking the piss and not giving bars, despite playing £500 quid through? All your Hi/Lo Silvers being switched of on you/in super on top pubs? All your Cluedos good for £2 profit?
Fear not, pop in a quid and lay back on the ultra comfy massage chair provided, listen to the soothing whale music and a quack will be along shortly to help you on your way.
Demons, demons, banish those demons.
A lesson learned via a serious wounding. Maybe the only way. Serious word with self, no next time.

Maximum payout on roulette should be in line with AWP's ie £35 maximum prize (soon to rise to £70). If you wish to gamble more then visit a casino. Weak willed individuals like myself can waste thousands of pounds in these machines in no time at all. They will use all their available funds to win their losses back thinking number X must come in soon. To my shame I have done up to £2000 in a session on these things in a couple of hours. With two bank cards, ready cash and access to cash withdrawals with four credit cards it soon got out of hand.

Roulette free since December 2011.

im crushed ,,,,,,,,,,, not going in 4 days
when i booked this , on the phone , it was all aranged , and was told in detail all flight plans , ie two flights to get to the convention , then 2 to new york , then 1 home , 5 in total,
5 weeks ago the tickets arrived ,,,,,, but the intinery had changed ,,,,,,,, there were now an extra 2 inland flights added ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, not previously discussed . wtf can they do that??
now this didn't really phase me , im not afraid of flying in the least . but tracy didn't want to go in the first place , (she was only going for my company , and would have much preferred skint bik going) so to add 2 extra flights to somebody who is already shit scared of flying ,,,,,,, well lets just say to cut a long story short ,,,,,, she told me to cancel it ,
so gutted ,,,,,, anyhow i phoned my travel company up , told them to cancel , and expected to lose maybe £500 out of the £2900 i paid , in legal losses etc . but not much more as i was cancelling with a full clear month notice before flying .
yesterday , after many a chased phonecall , i got one back , with the hotels money fully refunded - small charge ,,,,,,,,, but the airports refused to pay anything other than a £49 per person refund - saying its their policy .
anyhow throughout this whole ordeal , ive only ever spoke to one person at my travel agent company ,,,,, so maybe he's telling the truth ,,,,,,, or maybe he's pulling a fast one
£2900 paid ,,,,,,,,, £1560 returned .
ironic thing is ,,,,,, i could have and should have just paid for skint bik , in the first place , if im gonna lose a a grand n half anyhow .
advice anyone ???????????

I think Lee's thinking along the lines of the whole reclaiming bank charges malarky in that despite T+Cs, the whole situation is basically a complete rip off and given the change in itinary, the big boys are not really 'playing fair'.
They'll quite happily sell his cancelled seat on at full whack and not give a shit. Now that's bad ethics, but can anything be done about it? Sorry, don't know.
I'm not the biggest fan of travel agents, been stung myself a few times, but not that badly.
For 1.5K I'd at least be giving them some grief.

Sad to hear all this tray, sounded like you were really looking forward to going and to end up not going + been done out of big money is a huge blow.
I wouldn't rely on someone like bik myslef in any sense I know plenty of people like that, they never have any cash, always doing it chasing roulette/500's. Having been in many arcades/bingo halls/bookies, you recognise the "addicts" straight away...
Just think about it, people that play £500jp machines/roulette machines, generally seem to put hundreds in, even nearly thousands - are these people really rich people..... GOD no... I look at places like gala bingo and think to myself how can these grannies do a few hundred quid in an hour, and to anyone who hasn't witnessed these things, that is what they usually take.
I was in a quicksilver in angel the other day, after having a one off trip to london via train, just out of interest to what london is like at the moment, well suffice to say the city/central was all burnt, and had I, as alot of players do, took all the hilo's on for ***, I imagine I'd have lost a few hundred. Anyway quickly dissilusioned with this decided to have a go on the world poker tour £35's (crest multi game 777) in quicksilvers for want of a better idea more than anything in all honesty, always found them to be reasonable.
Anyway in comes a clearly single mother, says to locals/staff, oh I'm only coming in quickly, meant to be shopping at sainsburys.... yeh right I'm thinking ur going to session the 500s arent you... and low and behold on she goes to elvis and £400 is lost in about an hour there. Did all her shopping money etc. and I just cant imagine she could afford it, let alone her, what are the family going to have to eat?!
You think this would be a rare occurance, but I'd say most arcade regulars are the same, I imagine most run up huge credit card debts etc. to fund their gambling addiction...
One of the things I have come to realise also is that ALL grannies/mug punters think they know when £500 random machines are due, and which are worth it - I still don't get how they don't understand what random means, it's almost like they need justification for playing them (ie. I "know" its due the pots for example).
Also here's a classic one, I went into riva sutton (cheers kieron for doing the hilo's as always), for my free £10 credits (mate had the voucher too), and I was informed that I didn't play for long enough last time, so I can't have them, had a bit of an argument with him, and he basically made it clear only big addict pumpers are allowed the free credits... he near enough said it in those words too!
PS. On a happy note my mate played a £500 rainbow riches today, got gold pot for £20 in and then another gold pot £10 later... put most of it the pot so happy days
