trayhop123 wrote:i like my film's having literally hundreds of dvd's and about 20 blu rays , in fact outside of slots im a square boring movie buff superhero freak,,,, infact if it wasn't for slots i wouldn't set foot in pubs/nightclubs ,,,,,,,,,, square to some i admit , but there you are , horses for courses i suppose ......

anyhow although i like the odd popcorn flick ( ie a film in which you dont have to take your brain along with you to watch it lol) , i usually like something a bit more cerebral .

dont get me wrong i absolutely love some of the popcorns ,,,,,, diehards , indiana jones , bond movies , back to the futures , early 80s john hughes movies etc are just some of the titles that spring to mind , as well as some of the classic arnie/stallone film's , early eddie murphy etc etc ,,,,,, all great ,,,, + anything jackie chan and obviously the superhero movies . ( but thats probably just sad old me)

but now again you want something more , something that gets you thinking , something edgy with a twist ,,,,,,, too many to list ,,,,,,, but a few spring to ind ,,,,, from the godfather , through classics such as once upon a time in america , to modern day stunners like the flock and the grusome but compelling rise of the foot soldier and eastern promises .

i can even enjoy the bottom of the barrel films that are so crap beyond belief , so so so bad that they are enjoyable on a different level ( than the director intended ) ie something that trys to be serious but end up a complete mess , so much that you enjoy it as a comedy instead .( segal , van damm , im talking about you ) segal incidentally in my opinion hasn't made a decent movie since under siege.

sorry im babbling on but film's are my passion

now we come to the opening post , jason statham , who hasn't made a decent film since lock stock and snatch ( fantastic film's ), although the bank job is passable , because he hasn't got to stretch any acting ability beyond his comfort zone , which is cockney rebel . both the previous transporter film's were total dump , the scene in number 2 when he disarms the bomb off his car is priceless ,,,,, and as for that piece of shit crank , where he has to shag that bird to keep his adrenalin up is quite simply bolocks of the highest order.

i can only tolerate so much ,,,, so as for number 3 , id'e rather eat shit .

stil thats just an opinion ,,,,,,,,,,

ive said more than enough now ,.
:P

Yes, yes and thrice yes!! :D Somebody else has the opinion of how shit The Transporter is.

There are only 2 films in my collection which I have turned off - The Transporter and Spanglish, both within 20 minutes and both were utter dogshite. I can't agree that every Statham film has been pants since LockStock though, Snatch was pretty good and I more than enjoyed War - there's another good popcorn flick with Jet Li thrown in for good measure.

On a movie related note, I watched Wanted last week and my, what an awesome action film. Not the greatest of storylines, expected plot twist but great stunts, action sequences and ahem, Angelina Jolie kicking ass and driving an Audi Q7 - best film I've seen this year.

He was at some stage school with Dustin Hoffman and they were the two voted most likely to fail.

That's odd. Reading Michael Nunn's authorised biography sitting in front of me in chapter 4, page 47 it says exactly this.
