I have a Canon Powershot S50 5.0 Mega Pixel.

More Background here, with picture

Unfortunately I dont know too much about it really, because My father passed it onto me, and it was dropped at some point, so lost Screen and the Option Markers! It still managed to Produce the above amongst a lot of other nice shots on that day.. So its good!

Im guessing they will be worth a lot less now than what they used to be, like lots of other electronic things! You can probably pick up something much more advanced for what this was worth a few years back..

Hope you find a good un! And enjoy Snowdonia - On my hit list one day, cannot wait!!

getting some damn fine pics then from that camera :)

I have the Canon EOS400D

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos400d/

has an 18-55mm lens on it at the moment but looking to get a 70-300mm telephoto lens to add to it too. Hopefully get to head up to snowdonia soon, its not too far from here so would be nice to give the camera a decent run out.

Nice!

Looks similar to the one my Dad has now, that lens is huge!
How much was that?

Been considering an upgrade recently, but I dunno really because Im happy with the ones Ive taken upto now... Biggest trouble I have with mine is that sometimes it really struggles to pick things up, and Lens flare is Common, theres no way around it other than to shoot a few times and hope for the best :

Examples : (None of these are edited, luck of the draw!)

Lens Flare

No Lens Flare (at least I dont think?)

cost about £400 but will get £50 cashback, the lens I want is another £400 too.

Its quite amazing the difference between this (digital SLR) and a normal digital camera, its hard to describe but the sheer quality of the pictures is something else. With lens flair you can add a polariser and such to the lens to reduce things like that.

If you carry on taking pictures the way you are I would definately recommend it, the difference in pictures you could get would more than justify it :)
