this is not as spurious as it might seem, i'm interested to know what people in this country think of romanians.

will hills are offering 40-1 on romania for the eurovision (yes i know it is irretrievably sad to know about things like that). it won't last forever because the song has a good chance of a finish. if you have a few quid spare you could do worse than look that way.

Romania are 46 on Betfair, we're 55. Favourite is Serbia with 9.2, anyone heard theirs yet?

as we all know it has very little to do with the songs any more. the 12 points automatically goes to your best mate. but not everyone has the same best mate so the 12s get awarded across the board. each country also has a 10 point vote and i can see romania getting a lot of these as their ditty is populist, inclusive and has just the right amount of gimmick, not too serious but not taking the piss either.

but i will probably be proven wrong. 12-1 for a place (top four) seems very, very generous to me. no doubt it will finish 5th though.
