Well, 2 days to go on the auction and it's upto £895 :|

I've got a small profit at that but want something bigger really...My local auctions are only monday and wednesday nights, they're mainly bangers really but the odd very clean car comes through, but saying that i suppose it's easy to give it a pre-auction polish :x

I think i'll try one more next wednesday and see how it goes :)

Oh, and my Megane wasn't actually too bad, it wasn't the best drive ever but it was a 1.4 'family car' but my mate has a coupe, lowered 60mm on 17's and it looks mint....although it is yellow :?

It sold for a whopping £1,090 :D

A total profit of £300, not bad for 7 days work, i think i'll be a bit more carefull next time though, it was a close call

i read on here about people selling empty envelopes on ebay for around £40 mayaswell try that imo - better ROI, less effort and less risk :D

Yeah, i'll hold my hands upto that one, the envelope was a quick £30 in my pocket...

And the Blue dot on a peice of paper i just sold went for £10.01 :D

My all time best was 'my last rolo' it went to sweden for £41 + £5 p+p

Anyways back to auctions, with my profits from the sewing machine (corsa), i went again yesterday and picked up a 1998 Renault Megane 1.6e Convirtible, on a set of big boy racer 17's :?

I think i got a bargain but some of my mates are sceptical, before i tell you guys would you let me know how much you would have given?

Don'y forget all i knew before bidding was the condition (excellent!) mileage (104,000) and MOT (12 months)...

Anyone?

Couldn't say as i'm no expert either-but even excellent condition-is dubious language when ure speaking about a car that's been round the block and had it's life as it were. That said who knows-if it's been properly looked after-mebbe u do have a bargain.Let's hope it all works out for u again and u turn a profit-even a small one. :D
Happiness is only two nudges away.Pity you only got 1!

Yeah i know what you mean, what i mean is it's a tiny bit of rust that i'll just touch up, and apart from that the bodywrok and interior is spotless!

I gave £1740 for it which seems very cheap to me, anyways as soon as i get the V5 back it'll be on ebay so i'll post back with a link

You're having a bloody larf!

You've more chance of winning on Jackpots That Rock and Roll than making a profit these days at car auctions. You may pick up a Vauxhaull Fiesta for 10p, but then you have to spend £198109810981098109 just to get it working. If you know your way around an engine make that £1981987187198. Look for the suspiciously supicious oil change and fresh water to disguise the blown head gasket. I bought an old Rover 214 for £160 with a blown head gasket, something for the missus to learn on for her driving test. Cooked a flippin' treat. She passed first time though and I stuck it back in and made £90 after commission. Immaculate body work, very clean, low mileage, still had 6 months MOT. Can't remember tax, not much. Jeeez that thing cooked. I could drive it from Coventry to Leamington in the middle of winter and the expansion tank would just start to splutter as I got down the parade - most of the journey was done in neutral though!! No hot air to defrost the car either as coolant system was blocked by warped cylinder head. I had to rig it so fan was permanently on via switch in car. Thermostat+fan never triggerred as coolant system blocked. That was an essential for a learner driver. I think I blew a few gaskets when she started cooking it with dodgy hill starts!!

I think i may have made a bad choice this time, i picked up a renault megane cabriolet on an R plate.... The car is in good nick apart from a touch of rust...

I gave £1700 for it, but the suspension has started to knock, i'm just flogging it as it is, if i start spending on it i could end up out of pocket!

I've had loads of interest in it soo far, but only time will tell!
