The Daily Star on a Saturday

Post by mjd »

Anyone else buy this paper on a Saturday because of its Footy crossword?

I get a certain thrill from getting questions from yester year correct... Although Yester year for me springs back to the 90s.. There are always questions from the 50s, 60s, and so on, which we have no chance of answering..

hits from this week,

Stuart McCall, the Everton forward who scored twice in the final
Allan Neilsen, the spurs forward who scored in the final
Nakamura (sp? Always have probs with spelling, Like Ugo Ehiogu!) The Celtic player
Scunthorpe = The Irons
Barry Venison - Former Newcastle defender capped for England

I love that football crossword :D

Can never complete it though... Who won Scottish League 1 in 1903/1904 Season.. I haven't the foggiest!!

Any old Scottish football questions usually turn out to be either Queen's Park (Scotland's oldest football club) or Third Lanark (now defunct).

Either of those fit?
