at home , most evenings , i/we (tracy n myself ) like to watch a movie or 2 before bed .

we live opposite blockbuster , and have sky ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but on top of this we do trawl the net to watch the odd illegal movie stream ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i cant really justify the illegal stream viewing but there you are ,,,,,,,, and i dont watch any big hollywood blockbusters illegally for fear of ruining the experience of the special effects ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i tend to see them at the cinema then buy them on blue ray etc.

now what i want to do , is watch these sites cuddled up in bed ,,,,, on a tablet/ipod/pad/even mobile phone.

but thats where my technical knowhow stops.

im fine with the ps3 because as far as im aware ,,,,,,,,,,, all these illegal sites cant give me a virus ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, now and again they freeze up , but a quick power reset and im good to go. ,,,,,,,,,do these new pad things get viruses ? and how do you get rid of them if they do ??

im not bothered about screen size ,,,,,,,,, even an ipod touch would do.

its a minefield of choice at the mo

ipad 1 and 2
blackberry playbook
motarola zoom etc etc ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, all around the 400 to 600 price point .

then theres the cheap alternatives ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, asda are currently doing something called an arnova 8 inch for just £99 ,,,,,,,,,,, it cant be much cop surely ,,,,,,,, but bear in mind *** I ONLY WANT THIS FOR MOVIE STREAMING*** so im not bothered about any other high end functions , and not bothered about downloading apps or any of the films so doesn't require a lot of storage gb either etc. or 3g etc ,,,,,,,,,,, just needs wi-fi , so maybe this cheep thing would suit ?

battery life is obviously a slight concern ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, if i cant get at least two films worth out of it , then whats the point,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, again surely a smaller screen device would help.

can any of you help ,,,,,,,,,,,,, with all my concerns /questions please ? greatly appreciated .

ps , please no single line answers like ,,,,,,,,, ipad is best ,,,,,,,,, doh ,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,, that doesn't answer anything , if the cheap alternative is all i need ,,,,,,,,, for movie streaming .

If ya need adobe to watch films off the site forget any iPod/pad cos apple won't allow it on

cheers betch ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, not too sure ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i go on two sites generally ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, moviedatacentre , and watchmovie88 or something or other .,,,,,,,,,,, but there are loads more.

the thing is ,,,,,,,,, all these sites , for legal reasons re-direct you to another host site ( presumably foreign sites that the powers that be cant shut down fast enough ) ,,,,,,,,,,

and these sites all run the movies in different file formats .

the ps3 browser is a joke , but it does handle flash just about on redirected sites like putlocker, but not divx etc and a host of other file formats just dont work.

next ,,,,,,,,,, anyone ??? ,,,,,,,,,,,, even a cheep netbook that ticks all the file formats would do , but i am worried i'll virus it up ,,,,,,,, then im stuck with an expensive lump of plastic because im too thick to know how to sort it out lol

download Vuze on tracey's laptop and upgrade to premium to get rid off ads and get virus protection as well as be able to watch whilst downloading.

you can then stream directly to ps3 , ipad, ipod, and any android device.

nice idea lugs ,,,,,,,,,,,,, but if i virus that up she would kill me m8 ,,,,,,,,,,, cant take them risks .

need something else,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,besides i want to avoid any downloads of any kind ,,,,,,,,, just streaming

it will scan every download itself to make sure it is safe mate , so no worries.

then sign up to kickasstorrents and chose whatever you want to download, everything gets rated for quality and verified as legit torrents so you don't have to watch shit done with cams in cinemas or waste your time on fakes.

you can even download bluerays.

i've been using it for 2 years , far be it from me to condone any thing that would upset the 'federation against copyright theft' though.

You can pick up android tabs on eBay for between £50 - £80. One of them would be perfect for your needs

cheers lugs ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but i would still need my own laptop for that ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it might have to be that option .

feeder m8 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, yeah the brand new asda tab for £99 is tempting ,,,,,,,,,,,,, obviously for the price ,,,,,,,,,,,,, but dont think that supports flash either .

i know the blackberry playbook does.

the thing is ,,,,,,,,,,, i think i need to hold back a cpl of months anyhow ,,,,,,,,,,,,, because come dec-jan-feb ,,,,,,,,,,,,, the psp2 vita , will arrive ,,,,,,,,,,,, and there's been no reviews as of yet that i can find on how the browser is gonna be ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
