not a nice position to be in
i hate leeches and learnt my lesson years ago not to lend money ,,,,,,,,,,,, you do them a favour ,,,,,, then they never approach you with the money back ,,,,,,, its always you that has to bring up the subject '' so have you got that money m8? ,,,, you did agree the 1st of the month m8 etc''
just creates problems
but what do you do???
you could pass on the debt ,,,,,,,, afterall 750 is a nice chunk back ...... or you could let it slide and learn from it .
bottom line ,,,,,,(in your heart) how guilty would you feel if they did real damage to this guy?????????

I'm owed a few quid by various people, because they know you've got a few quid they make no attempt to pay it back, you end up having to ask for it and you feel guilty even though its your money, can't remember the last time someone walked up to me and paid on the agreed date without me asking, i know more than a few piss takers where money is concerned!

Think like a bank when you are asked to lend money, and you won't go too far wrong.
In my experience, lending money to friends is a bad move. They tend to use the friendship to extend repayment periods to suit them and inconvenience yourself.
Family are even worse. They ask for a loan, but once obtained treat it as "you've got more than us, so you should help us out".
Never lend because someone wants something gratuitous, rather lend when they want to make something of it.
And always remember the very wise saying :- "Neither a borrower nor a lender be."

"If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?"

I'm going to follow George around, dress up as a little old lady, borrow a quid and do a runner. If I can do this every day for a year, and George doesn't catch on (Groundhog Day style) it would only take me until the year 4751 to become a millionaire.JG wrote:Recently I'm owed nothing, apart from my g/f but that's another matter.
In the old days I lent money left right and centre and learned my lesson. Don't lend money to degenerates, echo all the above, YOU end up chasing and YOU feel like the guilty party. I am very choosy who I lend to, IF I lend these days.
of course there's always the old ladies who get a streak on something...."oh have you got a quid love? It's up the top"
You are either a lender or borrower. Seems that there is no honour amongst some people, lending people money to gamble isn't the best choice in the world, but sometimes you are almost blackmailed into it. Had a few disappearing acts over the years, but nothing major.
