It's packed up today and I've got important documents on it. Is there any way of recovering them? I've tried it on 3 different laptops.

What seems to be happening with it? Dose the computer still recognize it? or see it in your disk management?

You might be able to try a card reader.
I use 32Gig ones from China, £9 each, bargain and never had a problem with them,. am using about 4 of them quite happily.

No doesn't recognise it at all

Yeah like one of those all in one card readers,.
Some of the slots can read up to 3 or 4 different type of cards, sometimes when using USB memory sticks, it works, it just the way it tries to connect/read the data
