leeeaaaner times ??? ,,and,,, the cost of living

Post by trayhop123 »

there's some talk in the vip room at the mo , with regards to rumoured chips on the horizon etc ,,,,,,,,,,,,, which COULD shortly mean a sharp fall from the ridiculous amounts we've all been used to of late ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

then again it might make little difference weather these chips emerge or not ,,,,,,,,, there may be even better machines just around the corner ,,,,,,,,,,,, who honestly knows ,

i personally think that as long as they continue to make percentage based machines , in favour of ushering in randoms , then we will be ok for the forseable future ,

but the general consensus in vip , is that within 6 months from now ,,,,,,,, these regular 300 to 600 days will be a thing of the past , and average profits will be back down to a more realistic level . ,,,,,,,,,,,

anyway form your own opinion ,,,,,,,,,

over the last 22+years ive been through many many many good and bad seasons
the point is , have you all been putting a bit asside for the next inevitable bad stint , whenever that may be. so that for example if you've made only 150 that particular week and need 200 ,,,,,,, that you can put 50 to it from savings to supplement your poor week.

some bad seasons have seen good players return to conventional employment , and then quit and rejoin the fruits in better times.................. that may not be as easy to jump back n forth in the future ,,,,,, what with the shitty state of the country and the lack of availability of jobs.

have you all got a plan ,? or do you live for today only ?

and what do you NEED to survive comfortably ?

i live in a flat with the mrs , her sister and one other , ,,,,,,,,,, rent is 525 + council tax + utilities etc ,,,,,,,,,,,,, so i personally have to contribute 200 ,,,,,,,,,, plus then there is running the car ( ins , tax , fuel ) , and mobile phone , + food bills ,,,clothes ,,,,, toiletries,,, etc ,,,,, and all the day to day hidden bills that arise in life.

so without any luxuries ,,,,,,,,, im under preasure to make 500-600 a month ,,,,,,,, or 150 a week minimum .

which given the current climate is no problems ,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but who knows what the future holds?

what are you under preasure to earn?

thoughts please ?

theres no right or wrong answers ,,,,,,,,, just banter for fun.

Given that you got 'Gambling' in a seperate heading, that sounds like an awful lot of money you're putting behind the bar ... or is it just me?

I never really think about things like this, but I reckon I need about £1.5k per month to maintain my lifestyle reasonably.

To be honest, thinking that I need to make x amount per week would put me under pressure - obviously that's not serious pressure at the moment but if it was bad/I had a more extravagant lifestyle then it would be.
Bored of the grind.

Friday night with lads = £15-£20

5-6 pints, couple of games of pool and two quid in the juke box

Saturday night with the missus = £25-35 (I normally get most of the drinks in)

Hopefully gambling will be a lot less in 2010
