decent surround sound package
can any one advise?
got a sony bdp350 blue ray player connected through hdmi to my lg47 full hd tv
thing is i bought a cheep argos 100quid job amp n speaker's , which shortly blew the speaker's due to them being unable to take the frequency , according to a m8,
it was my own pennywise poundfoolish approach buying cheep tat in the first place
anyhow can anyone recommend a decent surround sound package .
firstly , and non negotiable ,,,,,,,,, must be ,,,,,, tall boy speaker's .
second bear in mind the amp must have both hdmi in and out .
and third ,,,,,,,,,, my budget ,,,,,,,,, erm ,,,,, negotiable but anything between 300 and a grand is fine .
appreciated ,,,
lee

Gentlemen, before we pull out the rubber pronged forks....
What did you get from Argos for a 1'er?
What are you looking for 5.1 or 7.1 set up?
Assuming no crazy THX Bose ported acoustimass real space sound, then I'm not going to suggest anything crazy here, but I think you'd be pleased with the Sony DAV-DZ660 5.1 rig. Very powerful (poor neighbours) and for the price, clarity and refinement are top notch. Definitely within budget. The LG wins on style, the Sony I reckon you get more bung for your buck. HDMI as well.
Unless you're a real audiophile, spending over £500 on a standard 5.1 rig is probably excessive, but that's just the way I see it. If you want to venture into the world of triple gold plated mega platinum Dali audio hyper speaker cable at £25/metre then be my guest, but be warned, it's a slippery slope and those premium bonds will soon get eaten up with the finest audio money can buy. I'm guessing Lee, you're after a respected brand, style and something that delivers a cinematic experience.
Now, back to winning a few more $20 heads ups and finishing those designs for a chocolate powered nuclear plant.

cheers george , i took a look ,,,,,,,,, and yes it has hdmi output ,,,,,, but not hdmi auxiliary input .
you see the dvd player itself is surplus to requirements .
i want to play my dvd's and blu ray's through my sony blu ray player .
into an amp/receiver then into the speaker's .
the lg has this input ,,,,,,, but yes it also has a surplus to requirements dvd player ,,,,
essentially i will be plugging my blu ray player into the lg dvd player , and it will do the job
im gonna go down to richersounds tomorrow , and see if they can sort me out with a separate amp/receiver , tallboy speaker package .
yeah i want a decent everyman brand ,,,, sony , lg , samsung , panasonic etc
not a 25k audiophill , dennon , harmon kardon , setup lol
something thats reassuringly expensive ,,,,, quality ,,,,,,, up to a grand ,,,,, defo no more .
thanks for looking m8.
