sir rath: re: playing halves; I do fruits for 2 reasons and as I've said before I could have easily took a high paying normal job as an alternative;

1) enjoyment 2) money...

on my own I find the first the first aspect very lacking...

I respect that you are in it purely for the money though, and fairplay to you for putting in the hours and organisation to push on to an "optimal" profit situation for yourself.

I have been in this game for over 15 years, was lucky enough to be afforded a private education, which was wasted on me. I don't enjoy playing fruits, haven't done for the last 5 years or so, but its a means to an end for me. I have every discipline when i'm slotting, and do take it seriously, I keep my mouth shut when I'm told to, and understand machines very well. I get info fairly swiftly, and make good money.

But I know far worse players than me who have made a better life for themselves. The reason is because they put their money to good use and I don't. I have very little savings, and I can't get to them because if I could i'd have spun it away on roulette, or drank it. I don't know what i'll be doing in 5 years time, and if i'm not dead (which I will be if I carry on the way I am) then I'm sure I'll be in the same situation, only worse. I'm not one for bullshitting, my life is a mess, and thats all there is to it.

At the end of the day I might make £5000 next month with hard work, and i'd probably save a tenth of it at best and squander the rest. A player with less skill/knowledge may make a grand in the same time, but save £750 of it.

Who is benefitting more from what they earn from this field of occupation?

Not me, thats for sure.

Therefore who is the better player?

The answer is the same.

Its all about the kind of lifestyle you lead tho isn't it?

I cant really say no to a piss up or a 'non-gambling' trip away, or a nice fat steak dinner instead of a £3 tesco one. I hardly bother with banks anymore, as long as I've got enough of a float to pay the rent, eat and drink and play pretty much when ever I want I'm happy.

Some players want to stash there money and live like a fruit machine nerd and I have absolutely no problem with that but its just not for me.

If I didn't drink, have a brain out on something stupid, have holidays, drink water and diet coke instead of beer and bottles of wine, have an active social life and banked all the money then yeah I'd probably have a half decent bank balance. But if you aint gonna spend any of it then why bother to try and earn it. Why? Cos its sensible? I dont wanna be sensible!! I want to enjoy life and have a laugh with my mates, thankfully at the moment I'm just about able to do that. I'm never gonna be rich, but then how many people will be?

In a way its nice to hear sometimes your mates who are more 'career minded' complaining they dont have any money at the end of the month. At least in our game we dont have to wait till the end of the month.

Enjoy life cos it might not be there tomorrow and I've known several of my old school friends that are no longer with us would have said the same.

looks like a few people go along with my way of thinking :)

Not saying it's a bad thing to work hard at this game, just a matter of personal choice.
