I've just had a perverse daydream of hosting a party with Will Self, Piers Morgan, Germaine Greer and Edwina Currie all vying for my attention...

the answer was indeed Will Self and Germaine Greer. I'll give the question to MattB, since UP was name-dropping :D

Ok, cheers sir. That'll teach you for name dropping! :P

Heres a stupid question. Why can't bats walk?

What they ^ said. Super thin hind legs mean they are too brittle\weak to walk on them, and they need to be lightweight in order to fly. Instead they drag themselves along with their wings

thehut gets it right.....their legs are too weak that if they walked on them, they would break. Whats the point eh! :D

Ok, i just downloaded some Paul Weller live tracks from iTunes, so in his honour...

Weller's band 'The Style Council' featured Mick Talbot on Keyboards, but what was the name of the Mod Revival band of the late 70's that he (Mick Talbot) played in?

He wasn't in The Jam with Weller, was he? I'm pretty certain they didn't have a keyboard player.

It was the (something) Parkas I'm sure, this is the type of stuff I'm in to. I don't have my Rude Boy Revival CD to hand which is annoying because 'You Need Wheels' is on there.
Still kicking about.

He wasn't in the Jam Weyland, but you are right, they didn't have a keyboard player, Weller did it himself for tracks such as Town Called Malice.

Demmerz is pretty much there, it's ?????? Parkas, where Talbot hailed from, and they did indeed release 'You Need Wheels'...immortal line 'A man ain't a man with a ticket in his hand, if you wanna get a girl....you need wheels' :D :D

I'm going to be kicking myself over this, I can tell. It's not London Parkas, is it?

(I admit to knowing more about Punk than Mods... ;) )
