is it the date matching the teams respective league placings and the score
I.e.
West ham in 17th scoring 1 against united in 2nd scoring 1
resulting in...
Westham (17) 1-1 (02) united

Was it floodlight failure. Plenty of strikes and fuel shortages in the 1970's.
Come on you Royals

How about something like both teams finishing with ten men because they ran out of fit substitutes/ used their allocation and furtehr players got injured?

Since in the olden days men were men, and since its to do with substitutes, was it the first game in ages and ages that no subs were used, i.e. the same 22 players finished the game that started?

Ok I'll keep the football theme going.
Which football team in the English leagues (one that Soccer AM shows the highlights for) has 11 letters in its name, and all of the letters are different and used only once?

By "soccer am showing the highlights" I should clarify that I mean its not a non league club. So its premiership, championship, div 1, div 2 etc etc.

This is proving to be quite a frustrating one- twice now I have reached for the keyboard in triumph only to spot my error at the last minute (Ipswich Town, and HAlifax Town)
