Let's say there is 1g in one of those Scwhartz jars in the supermarket(which could actually be bollocks) and that costs about £4.

Therefore 1kg = £4,000 and a ton = £4m?

Nope, he was English. From Hull.

I apologise BTW, the question should have been "Who was Ebenezer Cobb Morley?" as he died in 1924.
