You weren't wrong UP, that is shoddy scriptwriting.

Which famous TV presenter appeared as a small boy buying sweets in "Open All Hours" ?

All good guesses. All wrong.

This guy used to do kids TV, then a bit of "adult" TV, now not very much TV at all.

Right first time. Keith Chegwin appeared as a wee boy buying sweets before reaching the pinnacle of his career some 30 years later when he had his genitalia mocked by an entire nation.

That's all I know! Unless there was a Basher or someone as well. Incidentally, is that where the word PLUGUGLY is derived from?

okay, how about we say any 10 beano comic strips?

a plugugly was a highwayman/rough sort back in the day, wouldn't be surprised if dc thompson got influenced by it for his name.

I think you're amalgamating all the different comics into 1? And the Eggheads were the Numbskulls weren't they?

There were The 3 Bears in the Beano .. and Walter the Softie....

Beano was crap anyway... now Whizzer n Chips was a real comic... Bumpkin Billionaires, Mustapha Million ... ah ... fond, if hazy memories.
