The difference between yours and mine is that my 3 big 15 letter words going upwards (from the treble words) add up to 6 more than yours.

If you put all the higher scoring letters (c,d,f,g etc) with the Z rather than X, then I think that'll push up your score a bit.

Still not sure how Sue arrives at her figure though.

Shall I wait until you've finished? :)

Not fog, it's something man-made.

I now make it 2888! remember guys, only 7 tiles are played so you will not get vertical scores for all cells.

why would that make a difference, they are effectively all tripled regardless of the lower-most letter?

If the challenge is "The highest word score possible in a Scrabble Challenge game, without challenge" then I guess the board must have a set up that can be reached within the rules of the game(my first one did, if this is the case I make it 2880...

I'm hereby posting my intention to resign from this quiz (and from international football) as it's melting my brain.

Is it ambulances Weyland?

Not ambulances.

"Pollution" is particularly relevant, as the items in question are considered bad for the environment.

Couldn't you increase the score a bit by replacing a couple of the A's with blanks, then putting the A's in one of your scoreable stacks?
