nope. although I'm only going by the film.

If anyone's going to watch it, its when he and Bond play golf.

His caddy tells him.

Haven't a clue, but I do know Oddjob was played by Harold Sakata, an Olympic weighlifter.

Actually, I remember the book saying he was a naturalised British citizen, but in case that's not what you're after... is it one of the Baltics?

Weyland gets it.

Bond arrives at the course and his caddy says something along the lines of:

"He's British (might have said English), but you'd never know it."

Cool! I just went and checked the book, and Goldfinger is described as "A UK Commonwealth citizen, naturalised to Nassau," Nassau being the capital of the Bahamas. He emigrated from Riga, Latvia when he was 20.

Right then, staying with Bond. This might be a touch obscure, but why was the name of the Russian decoding machine that is the bait for Bond changed between the book and the film adaptation of From Russia With Love?

Wikipedia says Goldfinger is a Latvian, from Riga.

Might have to credit the wife with this one:

She reckons (I havent read the books but plan to some day) that the original machine was called Spectre or something very close.

And in the film the bad guys are SPECTRE, so there would be confusion?

Absolutely. In the original book, the plot was by SMERSH, the USSR's assassination service, and the bait was a code machine called the Spektor (which Fleming based on the rotor principles of the Enigma device). However, when it came to make the film, the producers wanted to carry on the theme from the previous film, Doctor No, and have SPECTRE as the bad guys. So the machine was renamed the Lektor.
