This is really sad, but as a sixties obsessed person(especially ITC programmes and supermarionation) I think I know the answer. Didn't each agent have a number like Fred1, Matt2 etc and Joe was simply the ninetieth.

Think I've gotta give that one to Rob, although Harry's answer was more specific. He was in fact the 90th agent to join W.I.N. (the World Intelligence Network)

I'll let Harry take the honours due to his answer being better than my guess (plus I'm about to head off) cheers :D

Bloody hell, that was a complete guess as well. I almost said The Prisoner. ;)

Okay, saying with the Sixties, what is the significance of actor Leo McKern as regards The Prisoner series?

Nope, although the number of episodes he appeared in is a factor. The only person who starred in every episode was Patrick McGoohan as Number 6.

Patrick McGoohan wasn't in every episode, Angelo Muscat, who played the diminutive butler was the only actor in all of them (sad!!!).

Sure? I thought even in the one where he changes body PM was in the opening and ending. Oh well.

Wrong all of you so far. LK starred in three episodes, but his number was not 3.

Weyland, I may be mistaken, IMDB lists PM in every episode, but I was positive he wasn't in one !!!

Agh, so near! Colin Gordon also played Number 2 more than once.

I'd better give you that actually. The answer I was after was that Leo McKern was the actor to play Number 2 the most times.

Over to you Rob.
