Guess that must have sunk in somewhere from the Wisden Anthology I'm occassionally dipping into at the moment.

Anyway this one might be easy for some of the wordsmiths who frequent the board-

What is the longest word in the English languae that has all of its letters in alphabetical order?

With apologies to anyone who comes up with one better than the answer on the card which is lifted from an SWP I think?

sorry, this is right up my street.

the answer on your card is probably BILLOWY.

feeble-minded scrabble-playing people would insist it is AEGILOPS even though the Æ is strictly one letter.

Nope the answer on the card was a very modest "almost". As I suspected though you have come up with a better one so over to you UP

Is this something to do with the level of a metal contained in the alloy that back then was relatively cheap but due to inflation in metal prices fueled by the CHhnese is now a lot dearer. Say Zinc???

Quoted my mate Lampard to score first the other week for England at 10/1. He jumped at the chance until I told him Lampard was out.

The Hornby gets it, 1985 and 1984 were numbers rather than years so it was just a very simple mathematics question.
