Oh bugger, I didn't think that was going to be right, so I didn't think of a question. :o ops:

(after looking on Wikipedia) Okay, seeing as there's been a few on-this-day questions recently, here's another one: The word "Dord" caused someone great embarasment on this day (28th Feb) in 1939. How?

i read about this a while ago. it was a dictionary compiler who wrote on an entry slip 'D or d' meaning an abbreviation for dead or died. but the sub-editor read it as Dord and the word was included in the dictionary output. iirc it was many years before anybody questioned the validity of Dord.

neither of those, the reason i found it amusing is that the show has a character who is nearly a dwarf too.
