So no-one is in the 'outer' or 'edge' lanes?
Sounds logical...?

Cool, right...
...In the comedy world, who lost his wife to a certain 'Seargent Wilson', which ultimately led to the person-in-questions' suicide, and also, what was her name?

Er... sounds like Dad's Army, so I'll say Captain Mainwaring aka Arthur Lowe.
As for the name of the woman, I've no idea, so I'll say Mrs Wilson.

Nope! (Just to clarify, I'm talking real life here, although the guy who ran off with the wife was indeed John Le Mesurier from Dads' Army...

Ah. I'm assuming it was an Dad's Army actor?
Although I can't remember anyone topping themselves - perhaps James Something or other, who played the Spiv?

Nope, not James Beck - died of liver failure I believe?
The guy who lost his wife wasn't in Dads' Army. Bit of a give away this, but he was often seen with Sid James...

Tony Hancock?
I just read his biography - I wasn't aware that was why he committed suicide though I knew there was a bit of wife-swapping shenanigans going on.
Tony Hancock liked to retire after a performance and drink 2 bottles of whisky. That takes some beating.

That's the man! Funny coincedence that you just finished reading his Bio. Hmm, well that's what I've heard quite often.
Anyway, it was John le Mesuriers' missus he pilfered, and her name was Hattie Jacques, of 'Matron' fame...

Spot on, John Laurie.
IMDB told me he was the only one, but if you know better I would sue them.
Back to you Matt!

Cool! I thought Arnold Ridley was also, although it may have been 'actual soldier' as opposed to home guard...
Right, sticking with classic British comedy: Who was originally offered the part of Delboy in OFaH (and held it for three hours!), but was ousted by David Jason?

Was it not another actor on the show?
I'll go for Roger Lloyd-Pack, but only cos I can remember his name.
