Well, it's the only Deacon Blue song I know, so I reasoned that if I knew it, it must be really popular with actual fans. ;)

Er. Right. Hmmm... (trying to think of one before leaving for the Friday lunch pub ;) )

What's the RRP of the Nintendo Wii, which was released at midnight last night?

£199.99?

(the picture was taken in Barcelona last year. It is indeed The Devil and God playing chess on the Ramblas - I'll try and post a bigger version when I get home)

£200 then.
chris de burgh high on something or other wrote: Well the railway man he cut the cards
And he dealt them each a hand of five
And for the Lord he was praying hard
Or that train he'd have to drive
Well the Devil he had three aces and a king
And the Lord, he was running for a straight
He had the queen and the knave
And nine and ten of spades
All he needed was the eight
nobody ever wins on those things.

The Cardinal is nearest, so it's his. £179.99. And the office was suspiciously empty today. As it always is the day after a console launch.

Who's playing black? ;)

I thank you.

Staying on a chess theme, what is the minimum number and lowest rank of pieces you need to achieve a checkmate in chess?

no idea. but a bit of logic suggests two pawns and a knight (and your own king)
nobody ever wins on those things.
