Is it notiriety about their name?

Did they have someone famous playing for them? Or infamous?

they competed under a pseudonym but neither name is sensational. it is the sporting achievement which went down in history.

Were they playing baseball?

Or tossing the caber, chasing haggis or doing a highland fling?

not baseball or any of those weird things you lot get up to. orion were playing a proper sport but, it not being their forte they played under an assumed name to divert humiliation at losing heavily

that'll do me (must do some work) they set the record for the biggest loss in competitive football in the country when they (as bon accord) lost 36-0 to arbroath.

the wiki has a few interesting tidbits:

Ah. Bugger. If I'd known they were also called Bon Accord I could have got that a lot sooner!

Oh well... staying with football.

Which football team didn't concede a goal in the first 8 years of its existence?

i guess someone who didn't play much for political reasons. maccaba haifi? (or however it is spelled) or someone who was hugely successful. England?

I'll go for Preston NE or Notts County, seeing as they are 2 of the oldest.

Nope to all of them...although Matt is on the right lines with a very old club, although in the wrong country.

Nice avatar UP, is it that cheeseball Chesney Hawkes?
