tried lasers tries u.v tried torches trien green light
noting works.
to know your boxes look closely and you can see screen-burn on some or just memorize markings on the boxes e.g. if u get a mega on dond and notice 3 dots on it next time u see the 3 dots you know its mega. i have a hof and i know every box.
on some wiyb if you look to the right of the box you can see a small number like a small under lined 4 is £4 and so on and £5 is at the end of the reel so if you see the seem its a 5er.

the boxes that i personally know on the DOND's worth playing are:
1p
10p <-
20p <- not sure on which is which exactly, but who gives
50p <-
£1
£2
£4 <- these two are the easy ones
£5 <-
£8

£10/£35 are the same
£6/£15/£20/MS look the same

Have you tried a Air Vent at the back?

Some boxes are the same on all DONDs. Just learn the reel order is best, there's a good patch and a bad patch. The good one has £6/£8/£10/£15/£20/MS in, though there's a 50p in there too. The bad patch has everything else with £35 just before. See the spin and you'll know roughly what you've got.

surely its not worth fucking about round the back of a machine, looking sketchy, for the sake of a box?

Everyone knows the dondoscope is for clinical diagnosis of dondoenteritis. Misuse of this precision surgical instrument to see a bloody box inside a bloomin' machine would be a wasteful use of NHS resources. You're not borrowing any of my dondoscopes for such a frivolous porpoise.
