Gold Rush
Gold Rush
New Games Media machine appeared in local 'Spoons. In one of those awful cabinets where the top half is exactly vertical, so any light is reflected straight into your eyes. Pretty much the same as the others (ie. diabolical unles you catch them right) in my opinion.
Who are these clown producing these machines anyway?

What's even more annoying.....was in spoons today, and saw some complete mug on gold rush. He had a £17 middle pot when i was there, and was on the mega streak super shot level. 2 shots up to the top, couple of rocks. Another 2 shots, big money complete. He carried on.....and eventually got GR in red. It only went for the whole bloody £105 didn't it. It annoyed me he didn't have to hit a ? mark, as i know he'd have taken the £17, and i would have rechased it :P
A sweeter experience was had on a MM here. £13
for a board, but it went to spell bound. chased it, and after only £25 odd in, got a mystery and survived first spin. Got red MM which did the full £75....nice indeedy

Right, i chased this today as i'd seen some guy do a bit through it. £4pr red and 5 normal strikes on the first board. Well......how i wish i hadn't. Just as well i was in halves!
Fully £190 in before it went
:x . Denied a SSS after about £140 as i wasn't sure what it would do. I know it doesn't come back too. In short, red GR did £70. It was obviously still flying after, and i managed to get a red MS, 5 red strikes, a £9 pot repeat, £6 pot repeat, £10 turbo win, £10 pick a win and a few 34 and £5 shots. It eventually came back to the £3 block and i left. Keyed it and it was £137 off. £53 down in the end which i guess is acceptable. I hate spoons daily refills, i'd obviously got the back end of someone elses and rechased it. Bastards!

these clones on £35 are not really a great idea to force tbh, although you can get lucky, had a "Return of the JP's" (YET ANOTHER CLONE THERES SO DAMN MANY ARGAHRGRARGAGARGRARGARAAR) cost £80 to get a top, wasnt even red but took it anyhow, £50, next board, red return of the JP's went for £70 so ended up £40 up on it in the end
On the other side of the coin had a money magic £35 cost £90 for a top wasnt red £50 again... next board offered £35, big money but as the top was red decided to push on for it, lost, and numerous boards and £50 later I finally got the red top for a lovely flat £35!!!
Going for these is extremely risky imo, but of course with risk comes reward on occasion

After a lot of disappointments on this thing, I re-couped some of my losses last night.
£27 in and I got a board that filled the middle cashpot - so I started gambling the bonuses and it let me get Red Hot, and gambled up to Gold Rush (red) for £35. The very next board landed on the £35 cash shot with my first shot, so I carried on and the red top feature went for a maximum £105.
So around £29 in for £140 out. Playing off the remaining 3 credits, it threw me onto the board again - and offered £4+rpt (red) - a guaranteed £8, so I grabbed that and ran.
Now I just need luck like that on the next 6 occasions that I walk up to it and I may get into the black again! (chance of that = 0)

This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy
Very dodgy machine this. It was backing after a tenner. Then had a run of features like this. £8.60 cashpot but died. Next £10 repeater cash shot then died. then £15 cash shot so i thought well it's progressing nicely shouldn't be long off the top. How wrong! died on it's arse for £40, then with only £10 change left and no notey on the m/c plus the barman said no change available, i had no choice but to try and recoup my loss. Messed about with this tenner for about half an hour going down to £2 then up to £14 then back down :x .It then threw a JP out of the middle cashpot. just kept going round and round. Then died on its arse again so left it about £30 down. Just seems very random.

Agreed, and it's usually because the bar worker is waiting to jump on it when their shift is over...
I still don't mind these style of machines, although I'll say that the ones that you can play on 'all red' mode are nowhere near as good as the more traditional ones (JPRR / JJ / MM).
I'm pretty sure that SSS is a 'one off' on these, and is also not necessarily a sign as to whether a hefty streak is on. I'll 'always' take the value from a SSS board. Also when you get that £10 off of the reels - this can crop up at any time, but doesn't mean that 'you're in for a biggun'!

"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."
