Glorious Goodwood Tipster Competition Rules

Post by harry2 »

I will change the format a bit for this week

Competition will run from Tuesday 28th to Saturday 2nd.

You have a virtual £500 a day to bet with.

You must have a bet in each race every day, win only please.

Minimum bet is £10, maximum bet is £200.

Example tomorrow

1.55 £10 win Dobbin
2.30 £50 win Slow Starter
3.05 £60 win Photo Finish
3.40 £150 win Last Again
4.15 £80 win Useless Jockey
4.50 £50 win Skinttilpayday
5.20 £100 win Goalltheway.

Non runners will go on the favourite unless you put an alternative selection before the start.
Roulette free since December 2011.

No extra for big race of the day?

Total returns are our points? I would have it so if there is no profit from either just score 0 so if you got £499 returns and I got £0 returns tomorrow we would still both have 0!

I don't really fancy anything strongly tomorrow apart from Gregorian.

I think your score should be your points so we can see the reality of how good you are?! Does it run 7 days? I predict you will be -£1200 ;)

Why not show us how much better you are then instead of running your mouth?

5 days, Tuesday to Saturday.

Don't take it personally! ;) i know nothing about the nags. What do you expect your own figure to be, betting £500 a day? I'll predict -£850....

Dunno how you can come up with figures if you know nothing about racing? Go on, pick a few names or something!

They really don't interest me at all mate but i was interested in how you'd expect to get on. I know people make on horses but they are very few compared to the amount that play them. I'd be intrigued to see how you do now you've come up with a decent scoring system... Of course my guesses are only based on limited information - i know you aren't rich so i have predicted you'll lose overall but it seems as though you know a fair bit as well, i don't know what the average punters "average %" is on horses! ;) when i have played them through tips etc mine is very low!! ;)

For what it's worth I think this is a better system. You can put weighting on your nap(s) and I think it gives more scope for punter insight to shine through.

I may do next time, I've left it a bit late now. To be honest I have no valuable insight into the world of racing. So my picks would only be as good as those of a total cluey. In other words, I may as well blindfold myself and stick pins into The Racing Post.
