Newmarket 24/07

Post by Mattb »

Evening,

Am off to Newmarket racing with the lads friday night for a big knees up etc....and i will of course have a bet or five when i'm there. As i'm usually dreadful at picking which to back, anyone got any views on any runners? If not i'll just hope to get lucky, but any sort of knowledge on any of the nags involved would be a bonus. 8)

Im your man Mattbb

I would advise buying a bake potato there, very nice and better than spud you like imo.

Also try and embrace the real beauty of the horse, such lovely eyes and bodys, breathe their scent and have a bloody great day

When having a bet I follow the tips offered on attheraces.com and look for horses that offer reasonable odds and back smallish money each way. Worth noting their tips before you go and have a few quid on each one.

My picks for tonights meeting are as follows....

5.40 Iceman George
6.10 Bruton Street
6.40 Coloursoftheglen
7.10 Colonel Mak
7.40 Pumpkin
8.10 Lochiel
8.45 Fajita

But these are my picks and quite often my opinion sucks, the main thing is to have a laugh and enjoy one too many beverages. :D

I had an awesome time, and managed to pick two 1sts (Hairspray & Paqueretzza) and a couple of decent places. Was doing £5 E/W on one horse for every race so i ended up making a little bit in the end 8)

I also picked Lochiel which stopped running after about 3 seconds

Plus the Quo were epic really, well impressed! :D
