apologies if this has been discussed under a thread of the actual name. but the new game on gamesnet looks entertaining. it appeals to me in terms of rewarding general knowledge rather than learned knowledge.
grid of 16 answers to a question, ±eight right, the others wrong. think wipeout before paul daniels but without the gravitas of bob monkhouse.
i will admit that i crapped out on 8 characters from camberwick green: windy miller, erm, the one who sells roses, roses who'll buy my roses... a nosegay for him, those twins from pigeon street and four mice on the marvellous mechanical mouse organ..
but it is not unfair. there are plenty of mainstream subjects to choose from and plenty of scope for spoilers when needs be.
with a bit of intelligent programming this could be the new hex appeal.
(basic design, inspired idea, simple for question-writers, endlessly cloneable)
it is a good parlour game. i think pubgoers will enjoy it very much.
