I tend to agree with the posters below the story asking quite why this is news!

Talk about sour grapes! I would love to be a fly on the wall when the next people play and win on one of them.
' i thought there was something amiss when this group of lads walked in just before 2 oclock bold as brass, ordered drinks, put money in the jukebox, watched the footie, played pool, had something to eat, talked to my daughters, and left merrily at about 11.15pm claiming to be going 'for a curry'.
It wasnt until 3 days later when the machine lady said that it's hopper was £22 off that i realised i had been fooled by the 'afternoon session scam'. It is a disgrace, I blame Thatcher, yoof of today' . . . (continues ad nauseum for next zzzzzzzzzzzzz)

What an absolute joke.
It is exactly because of these nieve idiots that places get smashed up.
Part of getting a license to site a machine, should include a compulsary guide as to how they work and inform them they have a hopper to PAY OUT sometimes (as per the 72% minimum legal requirement UNDER THE LICENSE THEY ARE OPERATING UNDER!!)
Just because someone wins 80 quid does NOT mean it has been frauded.
God damn fu*king morons. Really pisses me off when you encounter these thicko's.

There is no legal minimum payout, however manufacturer's dont have a setting for under 70% - there is nothing illegal about them putting one in though - so long as the lower percentage is stated on the machine.Slammer wrote:What an absolute joke.

These guys in question might have been tooling so don't jump too quickly on the bandwagon, although I agree some landlords do just tar everyone that wins with the same brush regardless of how the winning is done!

Just noticed this thread - that story is very, very comical...!
I won't go on about the nut (that MattB and Cros also had a run-in with once) that watches every single pound you put in and every single pound that comes out and STILL insists that you're 'On The Fiddle'.
I remember getting JP off of PTPT (not TPTP, lol) after he watched me put £20+ in and he still ordered me never to play it again.
Um, I'm going on about him and I said I wouldn't...

"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."
