Treasure Chest

Post by Nil Satis »

It's a new £1-only game on the Gamesnets. Those with longer memories will remember the original game, namely that you are asked to rank four answers in order to make a certain number of moves around a square board (e.g. Which of these bridges is the longest?) but you don't necessarily have to get the single 'right' answer, rather the one that gets you the desired number of moves.

I realise the original game used a single reference source so was vulnerable to those with the required skills in mental arithmetic but this one seems tight in the extreme - each answer wins you a number of gold bars towards a total (say 20 for £2) but that square then becomes a Game Over on the next round, apart from the corner and middle squares, and so you rapidly reach the situation of having very few winning moves left. Once you reach a prize you are offered another and the Game Over squares are removed but the same pattern then commences. It offers up to 5 Continues but each one costs the same £1 stake and overall I'd say this one offers the quickest way to lose £5 or £6 that I've ever seen on a quiz game. Punters will find it absolutely impossible.

Just to correct one thing - it's called Treasure Quest not Chest.

Everything else I said still stands though, i.e. it's yet another "blink and you'll miss it" game of unplayable dross...

nothing like the original you collect gold bars and have trap doors-primitive looking-although I expect somebody will crack it not my cup of tea.
