i play a lot of different word games and imo this is one of the least intuitive i've seen. got to within seven squares left but i don't see much appeal in it.
it appears to have equal weighting for all five vowels which is either ignorance or laziness on the part of the programmer. also it looks to me like there are no Js or Xs, i didn't see any. just as well because everybody knows that no proper word has a J in it. heaven forfend.
but maybe my two games didn't throw one at me and they are in the game just hidden away.

The problem with this is the letter boxes are to close together, i found myself getting pretty frustrated with accidentally pressing the wrong Box.
Im told that Big Fizz had to convert a version of this game because they were threatened to be sued over word soup looking so much like it.
Blackmail is a terrible thing:P

word up is a thing of beauty. this game is ugly, i could pull something prettier out of my nose.
i'm not in a position to comment about the legal side of things but it seems morally indefensible to retrospectively threaten something which you have ripped off in the first place.
